Welcome to my simple webpage. Here's a quick bio about me.
I have a degree in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson University. I've spent most of my professional career with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation where I've worked in a number of editorial and technical roles in the news and sports departments.
In Fall 2016, I left on a sabbatical to learn how to be an awesome coder, and joined Lofty Sky Entertainment to develop a pipeline for their computer graphics department. During this time I have learned about building automation tools for artists, data management and system administration.
In Fall 2017, I went back to the CBC where I currently am a Switcher/Director with CBC News. Basically, I direct newscasts in an automated control room.
In my spare time, I like to organize events where people chat with one another and help develop digital literacy. Here are some places I help out with:
I also have hobbies, which includes biking for a long period of time, making multi-camera live tv productions, playing floor hockey and softball. I am a certified open water scuba diver, but I'm afraid of open waters, which means I haven't gone back diving since I got my certification, but I'm proud to have somewhat gotten over my fears.
